Established in 1884, Penn Vet is the only veterinary school developed in association with a medical school, and is one of only four private veterinary schools in the nation. Penn Vet’s two campuses, urban and rural, offer students learning opportunities and experiences in virtually every aspect of veterinary medicine.
Penn Medicine is one of the world’s leading academic medical centers, dedicated to the related missions of medical education, biomedical research, and excellence in patient care. Penn Medicine consists of the Raymond and Ruth Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania (founded in 1765 as the nation’s first medical school) and the University of Pennsylvania Health System, which together form a $6.7 billion enterprise.
Reporting to the Vice Dean for Advancement, the Associate Vice Dean (AVD) will serve as the second-in-command for the School’s Advancement Office and provide leadership for the Penn Arts & Sciences major gifts and parents programs, alumni outreach, and planned giving initiatives in support of the $550 million Power of Penn Arts & Sciences campaign. Serving as a member of the department’s senior leadership team, the AVD will manage and provide strategic guidance to a team of nine professional and administrative staff.
The University of Pennsylvania Alumni Relations department is a customer/client focused service-oriented department whose mission is to engage all Penn alumni in a mutually beneficial, lifelong connection to each other, their school, and the University, and encourage alumni support and guidance to advance Penn’s eminence for future generations.
